Hair extensions come in a few ways.

Cylinder hair extensions are the more traditional ones that are applied to your hair with heat and a handy apparatus that attaches the cylinders of hair to your hair. To take these off, the stylist must use a hand held device that will essentially crack the seal that is holding this on your hair. Often times this results in the hair that the extensions were clipped to to break.

Clip on hair extensions are…just that..they are clipped on and can be taken on and off easily.

Tape hair extensions are becoming more and more popular. They are applied to small strips of hair at the root by taping the pieces to each other with a small strip of your hair in the middle. Removing these is easy. The stylist simply sprays a dissolving solution on the tape, rubs it around and the they slide off. Hair loss is minimal. These take less than 2 hours to apply and typically need to be taken off and put back on about every 5-8 weeks. It is easy to wash, but you have to be careful with brushing and scratching your head. The tape is clear so if you have hair covering it, it’s very difficult to see the tape so it is camouflaged well.

Below you can see the before and afters.

I didn’t actually leave the salon with my hair this long. I mainly got these to add about 4 inches to the length, but also to make my hair fuller since it’s been falling out do to age and stress. I have had the extensions for over a month now and love them. They are a little hard to wash because you can’t really get in to your scalp with your nails and rub, you kind of have to massage it lightly and build up a lot of lather to get your hair clean.

Forget the baby oil, replace it with Votre Vu’s multi-vitamin oil. It is light enough to use on your face, body and hair. It is not greasy, but you really only need to use a tiny bit. Loaded with precious oils and the healing benefits of Vitamin E, you will never want to reach for traditional baby oil again.

For your face – If you have normal to dry skin apply a light mist to your face before you apply your moisturizer.

For your body – After you shower give your body some liberal sprays of this luxurious oil then rub in and towel it dry. You may not need anything else.

For your hair – Spray a tiny bit on to your hands and rub, then carefully add to your hair starting with the ends. Too much and it will not look good, but once you find the right amount for you it is wonderful. You will see how silky and smooth your hair is left feeling. This is a great de-frizzer and what is left in your hands can be added to your arms or legs.

With a name as sexy as the product AMOUR D’ORE Les Vitamines Pour Vous retials at $49 and will last you for a long time since it comes out in such a fine mist. You can order this online or call 866-526-7337 to speak to a consultant or request a sample.

A Brazilian Blow Out is a hair straightening/calming/defrizzing treatment that is an improvement on the Japanese straightening. It uses keratin as the filler to give your hair that straighter look and then the bonding happens with a non toxic chemical that replaces the first version which actually used formaldehyde. Ew. Once your hair is flat ironed the heat acts as the final step to beautifully smooth hair for 3-4 months.

I just came back from having this treatment done and I am so happy with the results. My hair is was curly. No question. I could straighten it, but once the humidity hit or if I started to sweat, the curls would come a knockin. If you don’t have curly hair, you won’t understand why we love straight hair so much.

The whole procedure takes about 3 hours and costs between $300-$400 dollars. Make sure you find a REPUTABLE salon there are LOTS of fakes and you want to avoid using the older product with formaldehyde because it can be toxic and has the potential to cause cancer. I know we all want to look good, but nobody wants cancer.

Here are the before and afters

This is the BEST curl relaxing potion I have tried in all my 40 years of curliness. I discovered this product that was recommended to me by my hair dresser (Thanks Karmella). She used it on my hair one day when I didn’t have time for a blow dry and I just love it. It stops frizziness, it does not dry hard or flake. I can add a little each day on to wet hair. I just can’t say enough about how much I adore this product!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do not need to use a ton of this. Just about a quarter size or less is perfect. I bought a BIG bottle at the salon and it has lasted me about 4 months. It is slightly on the expensive side so I would recommend asking for a sample before you invest in it, or buy a small bottle.

Check your local salon or go to their website and see how you can get it too. :)
